News: Hub Locations Announced

Hubs BannerThe June 30th deadline for hub master applications came today and newly minted hub masters across the world were notified of their selection via email.  Pelikan also wasted no time in announcing the chosen locations for this year’s event.  Several of the selected cities are the same as last year but there are also many new locations which will give some of those who could not participate previously an opportunity to join in the fun.  Pelikan Hubs 2015 will include 69 cities spanning 27 countries with 19 cities represented that were not included last year.  In case you have forgotten or are unaware, this year’s gathering will take place on September 25, 2015 at 6:30pm local time.  Pelikan Hubs 2015 was first announced in May and represents Pelikan’s second hosting of this social gathering.  It appears that the company has a few new ideas for this year’s function which promise to add to the enjoyment of the evening.  Even though locations and hub masters have been chosen, online applications will continue to be accepted through July 30th for those interested in participating (a link to register can be found at the bottom of this post).  Attendance is by application only so even if you are unsure, I would urge you to submit an online application to secure your place.  Hubs generally are limited in attendance and range from 7 to 25 participants.  For those of you who cannot attend, don’t forget to follow hashtag #pelikanhubs on social media.

  1. The event takes place during the Dallas Pen Show, so there should be more of us registered for that city than the present four who are attending.

    • For some reason, I find that the number of pen enthusiast in an area does not translate into Hubs registration & attendance. I’m only expecting 7-10 people here in Philadelphia and maybe not even that many. Hopefully news of the locations will spur some people to sign up who have been on the fence.

    • The event location for Philadelphia is still up in the air. I’m waiting on an official tally of participants from Pelikan to help with space planning. I’m expecting around 12 right now. One issue to contend with is that the Pope will be in town that week but his schedule has him in New York on the day of the hub so we should be OK but that means a lot of extra people will be in town.

  2. Thank you, Joshua, for publicizing this! I had no idea – guess I’m out of the loop for such things, but thanks to you I just registered for the Seattle hub, and I’m very much looking forward to it!

    • You’re welcome! I’ll look forward to following the exploits of Seattle and all of the hubs online via social media. Hope you have a great time.

  3. Joshua,
Hi, we registered to attend and wanted to know if our spots are reserved, or if we need to wait for further confirmation. We will be driving down from Scranton, so we need to make arrangements to leave work early.
    Thanks,
    Scott and Terri

    • Thanks for your message Scott. I don’t have any inside word from Pelikan until the names and email addresses are released to me in early August. If you registered, you should be good to go and I would plan on coming down. The Philadelphia Hub is up to 30 participants! Should be an awesome time.

    • Sorry to hear that you were not included in the informational email that went out. I believe that there were some issues on Pelikan’s side with some of the registrations as you are now the fourth person that has contacted me about such an issue. I have forwarded information about your situation to the hub master of Seattle along with your e-mail address (I hope that you don’t mind). Hopefully she can be of assistance to you. Good luck getting is straightened out.
